Who We Are
Huuso Exteriors is a veteran-owned roofing and exterior contractor based in Plainfield, Illinois, serving homeowners throughout DuPage, Will, Cook, and the surrounding counties. We built this company because we believed roofing customers deserved a contractor who was genuinely local, genuinely licensed, and genuinely committed to being here for the long term. Every Westmont project is handled by our DuPage County manager directly — not sold to the highest-bidder subcontractor.
Meet Kevin Reifsteck — Your Westmont Roofer
Kevin Reifsteck manages Huuso Exteriors’ DuPage County operations and handles every Westmont project directly. He is a licensed roofing contractor (IL #104.019083) and a U.S. military veteran. Kevin is on Westmont job sites throughout every project — not managing from a desk.
Kevin knows what a 1960s DuPage County home looks like from the inside of the attic and from above with a drone. He knows what original solid board sheathing feels like when it is holding up and when it is compromised. He knows what a chimney that needs repointing before new flashing looks like, and he knows how to communicate that to a homeowner in plain language without making the conversation more complicated than it needs to be. When you call about your Westmont roof, Kevin handles it from the first inspection to the final walkthrough.

Meet Our Owners

Huuso Exteriors is owned and operated by Tim Reifsteck, Kevin Reifsteck, and Bryan Reifsteck. Before founding Huuso, the three brothers built one of the largest restoration and construction companies in the United States. They named the company Huuso because it means Honor — a principle they apply to every job, every customer, and every business decision.
Westmont Neighborhoods We Serve
Huuso Exteriors serves homeowners throughout every Westmont neighborhood, including the established 1950s-1960s subdivisions south of Ogden Avenue, the Cass Avenue corridor homes, the areas near Ty Warner Park, the Oakwood Estates and Williamsburg Village subdivisions, and the newer infill properties. ZIP code 60559.
Older Ranches and Split-Levels — South of Ogden
The concentrated 1950s and 1960s ranch and split-level stock south of Ogden is where most of our Westmont work happens. These homes share a common set of conditions — solid board decking, original or first-replacement ventilation, aging chimney flashings — and we approach every one of them with the specific assessment that housing era deserves.
Oakwood Estates and Williamsburg Village
The Oakwood Estates and Williamsburg Village subdivisions have a mix of 1970s and 1980s construction with a few later infill properties. These roofs are often on their second replacement cycle, and the condition of the original ventilation and deck rework from the first replacement determines a lot about what the second replacement scope looks like.
Surrounding DuPage County Communities
We serve homeowners throughout DuPage County including Downers Grove, Lisle, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Darien, Oak Brook, Lombard, and Villa Park. Same licensed contractor, same Owens Corning Preferred Contractor certification, same 10-year workmanship warranty, same Kevin Reifsteck on every project.
Roofing Tips for Westmont Homeowners
Tip 1 — Check Your Attic Ventilation Before Your Next Replacement
Most Westmont homes built before 1975 were built to a ventilation standard that is no longer considered adequate for modern shingle systems. Insufficient intake at the soffits, insufficient exhaust at the ridge, and thermal stratification in summer all accelerate shingle aging and contribute to ice damming in winter. If your roof is on its original or first-replacement ventilation system, the next replacement is the right time to correct it — and the correction is almost always cheaper than paying for an early third replacement.
Tip 2 — Inspect Your Chimney Flashing Separately from the Roof
The chimneys on older Westmont homes are a common leak source, and the leak is often not the shingles — it is the flashing-to-masonry joint at a chimney that needs repointing. Before any new flashing goes on, the masonry needs to be sound. A good contractor will tell you this. A rushed one will flash over crumbling brick and the leak will return in two years.
Tip 3 — Ask About Solid Board Decking
Pre-1970 homes in Westmont almost always have solid board decking rather than plywood or OSB. Solid board holds up well when it has been dry, but individual boards can soften where there has been persistent moisture. A thorough roof replacement on an older home always includes a deck inspection after tear-off, and any compromised boards should be replaced before the new underlayment goes down. Ask every contractor you interview whether deck replacement is included in the base bid or added as a change order. Our bids include the first several replacement boards at no charge.
Tip 4 — Use the Calculator, Then Get the Real Number
The roofing cost calculator on this page gives you a reasonable budgeting range for your square footage and material choice. It is a good place to start. But on an older Westmont home, the real number depends on deck condition, ventilation correction, chimney work, and whether prior shingles need to be torn off or can be verified as the only layer. Use the calculator to set expectations, then let us come out and give you the written number.
Tip 5 — Verify the License
Illinois requires roofing contractors to hold an active state license (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation). You can check any contractor’s license at idfpr.illinois.gov. Our license is #104.019083. An unlicensed contractor working on your roof is a liability problem for you, not just for them — ask for the number and verify it before you sign anything.
